It’s nearly time for a much needed break. Are you lucky enough to be getting a few days off to relax? Are you off on a city break, relaxing at the beach, hitting the slopes, or staying home like me? Let’s have a look at some of the trends for this spring to get you packed and ready for your holidays.
At the Beach
You lucky things you! This year we’re seeing a lot of lovely neutrals and linens. Which makes me happy as they will be useful for years to come and not just a passing fad that will end up in the back of your wardrobe never to be used again.
This swimsuit has a really pretty shoulder that will stop you getting burned while looking lovely. I’m not sure about the support though. When I wear my swimsuit I have to wear a bikini under it to give me more support. It’s so hard to find a chic swimsuit with proper construction in the cups.
These little shell earrings are so cute, and reasonably priced from & Other stories.
I am obsessed with the Jacquemus bag! It’s so chic and fun!
These sandals from Oysho are practical, comfy and elegantly laidback. Perfect for day and night.
The wrap dress from Zara is perfect for a beach holiday. Super flattering, and can be used as a beach cover up at lunch time or dressed up and worn at night for dinner.
Versatile and comfy clothes are needed when you’re spending all day walking on cobbled streets. Layers help with changing weather and locations. A cross body or belt bag are the most practical, and let you be hands free for taking lots of photos, and eating ice creams :)
This lightweight linen trench coat from & Other stories is absolutely perfect for a city break, lightweight, easy to layer, and chic enough to take you anywhere from museum to bar.
A fun Tee and a pair of cropped paper bag waist trousers is a cool, easy, and comfortable outfit to pair with practically anything, and if you’re planning on visiting cathedrals you’re covered enough. Throw on a long sleeveless waistcoat if you need another layer. but want to ditch the coat.
I have these McQueen trainers, they give you a bit of height, and are really comfy, which is exactly what you need for any city break.
Ok, the bag is a bank balance buster! From Celine, the box bag is one of my favourites. It’s so stunning, yet it doesn’t scream, like so many of the bags at the minute. It goes with everything, and is perfect to take with you all day and evening. *swoon* You can find them online in many resale websites if you want one, but don’t want to buy new or pay full price.
The Necklace and sunglasses both from Uterque are very old Celine inspired, and therefore I love them. Cool, yet understated, everything Celine used to be, sigh.
Hitting the slopes
Skiing in April can be a much more fashionable affair than when we go in the height of winter, wrapped up so much, only our noses are exposed! Think about a lovely bright zipper to wear under your jacket. That way at lunchtime when the sun’s out, you can wrap your jacket around your waist and show it off. Get double the wear out of it for Après ski fun too.
I’ll be staying put this year. We might do a few local day trips, and if I’m lucky I’ll get a few days to sit around the house and do absolutely nothing, and that calls for a lovely pair of pyjamas, bliss!
Whatever you’re doing these holidays, I wish you all a happy, safe and rejuvenating break.
As you know folks, this may be a fashion blog, but we try to think about the environment too. When we do look books and shopping guides here at Style Pop! It’s for inspiration. You don’t have to run out and buy a whole load of new things, have a look at what you’ve already got and see if you can make it work. If you fancy something new, borrow from a friend, visit a second hand or vintage store, or if you go to the shops, get a piece that you really love and know will last you for a long time to come :)
